Green as Grass
Artificial grass is increasingly being used indoors and for decorative purposes. A logical question is then: Which fire safety requirements does the artificial grass comply with?
From chemical retardants
In the past, our artificial grass was sprayed with a fire retardant, but this has various disadvantages. Such artificial grass is suitable only for indoor use and, as indoor surfaces are walked on quite intensively, the fire retardant disappears after a time. The protection provided is then no longer optimal, or it can even disappear entirely.
To sustainable solutions
We have developed two new products in order to provide a sustainable and environmentally-friendly solution: Fivestar Colours with fire classification B-fl ( straight and texturised yarns in all kinds of colours) and Fivestar Fire Safe with fire classification C-fl ( straight and texturised yarns in bicolour green). These are beautiful landscape grasses that comply with the highest fire-retardant standards.
This obviously provides major benefits for indoor use, for example in trade fairs, seminars, hotels, and shops etc., but in certain specific cases it’s also an excellent choice outdoors. In contrast to artificial grass treated with chemicals, these two new types are resistant to outdoor weather and retain their excellent fire-retardant properties for a long period of time.
